A PLAN TO TRY

Think in separate objectives

Helping residents, requesting assistance, escaping and resisting Michael are related but not interchangeable actions. State which outcome your group is pursuing now. A teammate preparing an escape needs different information from one trying to support a confrontation. Clarifying intent prevents a dramatic encounter from pulling everyone away from unfinished objectives.

Do not promise a respawn condition

The overview describes return roles but is not a complete current-version eligibility table. Check the options actually presented after death. Do not leave a useful position or intentionally sacrifice a character based on a rumored guaranteed return. Record any condition you observe before presenting it as advice to another player.

A confrontation needs a shared decision

Before a group abandons an escape plan, ask whether the people involved agree on the new priority and have observed the relevant in-game conditions. We do not provide a fixed number of hits, a required weapon recipe or a guaranteed detain input sequence. Those claims need repeatable version-specific evidence.

Record the result precisely

Separate “Michael was downed” from “Michael was detained” when describing a clip. If the video ends before the outcome, the result remains unproven. When reporting an issue, include the visible prompt, your attempted action and the event that followed.

Downed or detained: check the outcome

Steam distinguishes a revolver knockdown by Loomis from detention that ends the match. For your next attempt, record the on-screen state and the match result separately. A knockdown alone is not evidence that the detention objective was completed; use the current interaction prompt rather than assuming an arrest input.

Questions about this guide

Can Michael simply be killed?

The official overview frames the team outcome as detention, not killing Michael.

Is Dr. Loomis guaranteed after every death?

This guide does not establish that eligibility rule; check the current in-game options.
